Eating
- stove (windscreen), fuel (small bottle, funnel)
- pots (note: fix pot lid)
- large metal bowl
- mugs
- personal water bottle
- large water containers OR water filter OR sterilization tablets
- rope + carabiner for hanging food
- cooler
- can opener, corkscrew (if needed)
- TP + hand sanitizer
- plates + bowls + cutlery
- wooden spoon
- ziplock bags
- soap + scouring pad + mesh bag for dishes
- line + clothspins
- garbage bags
- matches + lighter
- guide tarp + necessary ropes (note: to buy)
Sleeping
- tent
- sleeping bag + liner
- thermarest

Wearing
Bring clothing that dries quickly and avoid thick cotton clothing.
- raincoat + rainpants
- sandals + covered shoes/boots
- shorts + pants
- tshirt + long-sleeve shirt
- underwear + socks
- towel
- fleece jacket
- cool weather: long underwear + extra layers
Biking
- spare chain powerlink, brake cable, shifter cable, bolts for luggage rack
- toolkit, pump, patch kit, spare inner tubes, chain lube
- pedal wrench + pedal grease (if packing bike for airplane or train)
Misc
- pocket knife
- flashlights and/or headlamps
- drybags for multi-day trips
- extra rope for boat for canoeing trips (plus string to secure glasses)
- duct tape, zip ties
