La fête national du déménagement

This is one crazy city I live in — the streets are full of moving vans and people carrying chesterfields, because most renters here sign leases that expire on July 1st. (Why? As Rebbe Tevye would say, “Tradition!”) Of more interest to me are the listings of free events this summer; there are concerts, plays, and what have you almost every night, and usually a few to choose from. All of this is in addition to the large festivals: I caught a few outdoor shows at the jazz fest last night, including this great brass band from Jaipur. I’ve attended this festival before but it’s so much better when it’s just down the street. This is going to be a great summer!

Hmm. I see Environment Canada thinks I should stay in tonight, though:

Oh well, half an hour ago they were predicting a tornado. Hopefully my garden survives…
