Looking for mentors for Northern youth
My awesome friend Sara is looking for people with a couple hours a month to spare mentoring youth in the Yukon, to help high school students plan a career for themselves, and encourage them not to drop out of school. Particularly in remote, Native villages, kids lack role models who encourage them to seek further education, so that’s where you come in. If you do one of the following jobs, they’d love to exchange the occasional email with you. You can read more and sign up here. They’re having trouble finding people this year, so tell your friends and co-workers!
This year, they need people in the following professions:
- Business person/Entrepreneur (multiple)
- Aesthetician/Hair dresser (lots of these this year)
- Medicine (medical students, doctors, and researchers)
- Conservation Officer (multiple)
- Construction (multiple)
- Sports management (multiple)
- Carpentry (multiple)
- Trades: Mechanic/Electrician (multiple)
