Would you trust them?
Overheard during a July 30th raid on a London flat to arrest several suspects in the underground bombing:
Police: “Muhammad, come out with your hands up.”
Suspect: “If I do, you’ll shoot me!” (apparently referring to the shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes)
Police: (Pause) “That was a mistake.”
Oh, and in case you haven’t yet heard: Menezes was not running from police when shot; he was seated, according to leaked bystander and police testimony at the inquiry into his death.
